| This has
been one of the best years of my life. I am enjoying
life and traveling as much as possible. |
 |
Cabo has been growing fast, and now there is a
new pool with dolphins that we can swim with. This photo
was taken in May, 2006, at the new dolphin tank. |
|
Real de Catorce is an abandoned mining town located in central
Mexico. |
 |
 |
Although it is basically a ghost town, there are several
businesses in operation. This photo was taken at one of
the few restaurants in July, 2006. |
|
The area is a ceremonial ground for the Huichol Indians, as
well as Mexicans who come from all over the country on a
pilgrimage to pray, and eat the magic peyote that grows wild
in the desert. |
 |
 |
Real de Catorce was once a big town of 40,000 citizens, and is
now mostly in ruins with only 1200 residents, living mostly on
a small base of tourism. |
|
In September, I took my father, Jack, on a fishing trip to Alaska, and it was so
nice to be with him. It was our last trip together. He died from lung cancer 2 months later in
November. |
