| BUILDING THE BEACH HOUSE |
| This year was spent building the
house I had always dreamed about, on the beach, in the tropics, and in front of a surf
break. |
 |
This was the first day of
construction. I am standing next to the back hoe, getting the lot cleared of brush.
Then it was graded and leveled. |
After the
grading, the motorhome was parked on the lot. I lived in the motorhome for a year,
while building the house. |

|
|
|
The house was built from all block and
concrete, so the foundation was critical. This is the steel that went into the front
retaining wall, supporting the house. |
|
After the foundation was poured, we compacted the dirt and
started raising the walls
. |
 |
I
 |
I would work
on the house all day, and work nights on the computer in the motorhome. |
|
Finally the house was finished
in late 2002. For a full description of the final product, click on the link below.
